I was excited to dive into Bethenny Frankel's newest release Skinnydipping because I find her to be a fascinating person and her sense of humor is fantastic!
From the beginning of this book Bethenny's sense of humor is evident. Faith Brighstone is just graduating college and has decide to move to California to pursue an acting career but is hesitant because she will have to stay with her Father whom she doesn't have much of a relationship with. Faith is optimistic that their relationship will blossom since they will be living together. Once arriving in California she finds that no one is there to pick her up and she starts to worry that her Father had forgotten. Faith Hails a cab and is awe struck over the beautiful home that she approaches. Once again no one comes out to greet her or answer the door. Disappointment starts to settle in when a young Women comes down the stairs and Faith is flabbergasted that her Father is dating a Women her age. As days turn into weeks Faith gives up on having a relationship with her Father, he is very cold toward her but what she didn't expect was to find a friend in her Fathers companion.
I found this book to be a bit of a roller coaster. Meaning it would pick up in interest and then slow down, continuing this process through out the book. It really slowed down for me about half way through when Faith returns to New York but picked back up toward the middle of the Sybil contest. I thought this book was a decent read but probably wouldn't read again. I would recommend it to people who are looking for a lazy day read, to cleanse your palette, so to speak. I would rate it 3 out of 5 stars.
