Coben is generally a good plane or travel read, as his books are pacy and don't require too much effort, so when faced with a 16+ hour plane ride I downloaded his new book 'Stay Close'. Unfortunately it didn't grab me nearly as much as his earlier books. Where normally there is a good amount of suspense, 'Stay Close' took a while to get into, and the suburban mother with a secret past wasn't as tantalising a catalyst as you might hope.
The book was fine for a plane read, but I prefer Coben's backlist, which is more suspenseful crime than the family drama he seems to be moving towards with some recent titles and I can't see myself rushing to the shelves for the next book.
