when you set out to read a book that is supposedly a "groundbreaking classic of social psychology", you don't expect to laugh so much. but when berne breaks down the social games that people play with names such as "now i've got you, you son of a bitch", "see what you made me do" and "let's pull a fast one on joey", you can't help it.
while the social situations in the book are quite dated (written in the sixties), you can't help but start looking at your everyday interactions slightly differently. if you get really motivated, you might even attempt some "game free" interactions in the future.
