really liked it
bookshelves: pulitzer
Read from April 20 to 22, 2012 — I own a copy

I did not love the book, but I did enjoy it very, very much....
this is a book about families, what they do to hold on and how they try manage when they can't.
A very sad, lonely but colorful coming of age tale of siblings with not much parental input from their father Chief Bigtree.
The world of Swamplandia is bright, vivid, spooky, lush and full of wonderful creatures some real and others not...
Kiwi, Ossie and Ava try to hold on to each other and the only home they have known after the death of their mother, "The World famous Alligator Wrestler Hilola Bigtree".
by The first page you are hooked....swept along in the authors unique imagination.
be prepared for a wild, white knuckled ride!
