Excellent and fascinating book. Compulsively readable, a very quick book. Incredibly interesting.
To be sure some scenes do feel a tad contrived like when Amir meets the old man who knew his mother. And Hosseini's background made me doubt it's realism for a bit but doesn't change that the story is pretty solid.
Overall, I enjoyed it. Very good read.
Will certainly want to read One Thousand Splendid Suns.
