it was amazing
bookshelves: sf-fantasy
Read in April, 2012

Set in an alternate trans-Caucasus/middle Asia, and following the adventures of a Mongol-ish prince who survives a massacre, a newly fledged sorceress and other characters who are uniformly interesting and vividly presented. Excellent world building, pacing, internal logic, prose. Very fine, left me impatient for the sequels.
