Took me 3 tries to get going with this one. Left the last one hour of this 11-hour plus audio because I got bored, and tired of Erickson's voice.

Murder investigation was meh. The Bowers thread was what kept me listening and it was fun seeing Troy Trueheart in his first appearance here - I'd met him in the later books (can't recall which) since I've read several books in print back when they were published and now, going backwards with the audios.

Overall, I did not care for this installment, mainly because I hate being taken back into Eve's past as the abused child. While I can see how this is being used to make us feel sympathetic towards her, it really gets old after a few books.
