Much better than I thought it would be. The change from b&w to technicolor in the movie now makes a lot more sense - what with Kansas described as being nothing but shades of grey. The movie is SO iconic it's very hard to get the film out of your head as you read this book nowadays, but it's very well-written and the description are excellent. It's a little episodic - but I suppose that would only make it better for bedtime reading.

I have all the other Baum Oz books downloaded on the Kindle, as they're out of copyright. I look forward to dipping into them in future.
