After so much breathless action and escalation of events leading up to this point, you do get the feeling Hamilton had painted himself into a bit of a corner when he came to end this saga. Not sure how else he could have satisfactorily wrapped up such a behemoth but I couldn't help feeling a little let down by the end. Having said that, this is still overall the best hard SF trilogy of all time in my opinion.
