really liked it
bookshelves: european-lit
Recommended for: everyone, Irish lit fans

I read this a few semesters ago in an Irish lit course, and it was really fantastic. I'm upset that I don't remember as much of it as I should, though. The characters are pretty excellent, especially Chuckie and his get-rich-quick schemes that actually work really well. The story centers around an explosion (I don't remember which political group is responsible, the IRA or UVF) and its aftermath and how it affects the main characters.
