Great, complicated plot; took a while to sort things out and really get moving but it was time well spent. A handful of great, sympathetic characters offset some of the obligatory gore; not sure why thriller writers think they have to one-up each other on how to torture a victim but it's a small enough part of the book and the rest more than compensates. Not out til this summer so stay tuned.
