Simon and Schuster provided a free galley copy of this book for review purposes. And when the first electronic galley didn't work, they were awesome and fixed it and sent another one. Thanks!

Molly, exiled queen of Ireland, travels England with her granddaughter, Nevaine, her lover, Jack, and her adopted ward, Hob. Molly cares for the sick in body and mind, making her welcome everywhere they go. But this particular trip is cursed; something bestial and murderous is following them, wiping out entire inns and wagon trains and leaving only mangled corpses. When they reach the castle at Blanchefontaine, Hob thinks they will finally be safe, but it is only there that the evil shows its true face.
