5 Big Stars!
This is a sophisticated, provocative, titillating, highly erotic, sexually driven read and is extremely well done. The title fits the book in more ways than one. It not only applies to the sexual nature of the book, but how Eva and Gideon give of themselves to one each other in body, mind, heart and soul. Eva is a smart, self-assured woman who finds herself drawn to the charismatic, enigmatic Gideon. Their relationship is initially based solely on sex, but their connection is so powerful, that they are overwhelmed with the need to be with one another. Most times their dates, rendezvous, encounters…whatever, result in some very primal raw sex. The two of them are insatiable, especially Gideon, who takes it to a level with Eva that leaves her completely undone. The scenes are quite vivid, and the feelings they exude…well WOW and WOW and WOW again!! Gideon is all about giving pleasure and then saving his for last. I was EXHAUSTED!! The misting fan could not compete with his exuberant bouts of sex, yet, none of this ever felt dirty, but necessary for the two of them. Much of this has to do with the fact that Eva and Gideon are tormented from past trauma and this is a form of healing for them. Eva’s confides in Gideon, and he is slowly opening himself up to her.
So, as the book came to its conclusion the story of Eva and Gideon did not. I was satisfied enough that I could leave them for a while, but I need to know how this all plays out, and that my friends will remain to be seen…hopefully in October! In the meantime...I can't recommend this book enough, you will run the gambit of emotions while you join Eva and Gideon on their quest to find themselves and each other.
This is my Gideon...I know he doesn't have blue eyes, but the rest...ahhhh!

Just my thoughts on this matter!
Much has been made about the comparison of Bared to You and Fifty Shades of Grey, and frankly I don’t see it. In any romance and sub-genre there are always going to be similarities, it can’t be helped, but the direction the story takes, the personality of the characters, how they are presented, and of course the writing, is what makes each of them unique. I enjoyed Fifty Shades of Grey, but I loved Bared to You. There is no doubt that EL James is a gifted author, but Sylvia Day is a talented, skilled writer and has written an exceptional book. So, if I had to choose between the two…Bared to You...without a doubt is my pick!! Why? Because it's 50 times BETTER!

Karla! You know exactly what I like in my romance novels, and this has been on my TBR List for quite some time. You know how much I DIDN'T like the first two books in The Fifty Shades Trilogy, so I'll be asking you if you think this is my type of book, as soon as you finish reading it!

You really liked it? I know you didn't care for Fifty, so this surprised me. Ok, now I'm curious....will be adding it to my TBR pile.
Ann wrote: "You really liked it? I know you didn't care for Fifty, so this surprised me. Ok, now I'm curious....will be adding it to my TBR pile."There is no comparison Ann, I don't see the correlation. I liked the first book in the 50 series, but I felt the second one was very tedious and I never finished.
It sounded like this might have a cliff hanger type ending. Please let me know if that's the case. If it is, I'll wait until the next one that comes out. Thanks!

Yay!! I'm so glad you LOVED it, Karla, and I SOOOO totally agree with you about this versus 50!!!!!!
I cannot believe how this book ends though. Not very happy we have to wait until October to read the next book :(
Perfectly said, Karla! Wonderful review. Knight was also being compared to Fifty and I couldn't see the similarities in that book either. I think you said it perfectly. All sub-genre books dealing with the same theme will have a few similarities. I'll be excited to start this book once the sequel is released. I hate cliffhangers. Lol.
Great review, Karla! Somehow I'm glad you said that because I hated Fifty and I'll be giving Bared to You a go. Well, I have to do it since I got an ARC.

Thank you Kristen, I'm going to expand a little on my review. I just wanted to post this, becuase so many of my dear GR friends were asking if I thought the 2 books very similar. Also, I didn't see the ending as a cliffhanger mor like a work in progress on Eva and Gideon's relationship...to be continued. Sometimes I like to wait too, for the next book in the series...it sure can't hurt.
Baba wrote: "Great review, Karla! Somehow I'm glad you said that because I hated Fifty and I'll be giving Bared to You a go. Well, I have to do it since I got an ARC."Thank you Baba. I didn't hate Fifty, but the writing in that book is definitely not at the same level as this book. Just my thinking though.
Wonderful review, Karla!! I can't wait to read this now. I'm curious to see if I see similarities to Fifty with this book like a lot of others have. I'm kind of hoping I don't, to be honest.

I honestly think you would agree with me that they bear very little resemblence to one another. Then again, you never know. Either way I hope someday you'll give it a shot!

Well I guess I have to buy this even though I told myself no more books til May. It just sounds too good not to , Karla!
Kelly wrote: "Well I guess I have to buy this even though I told myself no more books til May. It just sounds too good not to , Karla!"It's lendable, so put a shout-out out there and see if someone will loan it to you. Elizabeth lent it to me. You do have a Kindle right? I thought you did. If so I can ask around too!
I have a Kindle app for my iPhone, Karla. It gives you a teeny-tiny screen to read from. I do read full lengths on it occasionally, but it's better for shorts. Turning the page every few seconds starts to suck fast! So no Kindle, but cool phone! Anyway , thanks for the offer to look for a loan for me. Becs has already offered, too, for Fifty Shades. For now it's regular books for me until I want to spend the money for a Kindle. Believe me, never have a shortage of books to read, God forbid!!! :))
Hi Kelly! Have you checked out Paperback Swap (http://www.paperbackswap.com/index.php) You can trade your books for credits to acquire other books. It's an awesome site.

It worked quite well.
Great review and I really liked your thoughts on the 50 comparisons. You are so right about the genre creating all the books to have similarities. Sylvia Day takes a great story and makes an extremely hot book. She has some very good historicals with sexy pirates too, ARRR!

Thank you Splage, that's what I hear and she is going to the top of my reading list!

Awesome review! Looking forward to this one, but I will have to wait until the next book is out. I need my full closure.

Ha! You're so funny!! Thanks for the tip! I'll only read this in the privacy of my own home!!
OMG, GREAT photo, your right, too bad that guy did not have blue eye's because he is the perfect Gideon. I'm only 21% into the book but I am already lusting after him and they have not even done the nasty yet. I'm really loving what I've read so far.You mentioned October, is that when the next book come's out? I hope so because that is not too long of a wait :-)
Fantastic review Karla.
No Kris I haven't checked out that website you mentioned in your post on this page. I will check it it soon. Sounds like a good way to get rid of books I no longer want and get credit towards new ones, though, right? Thanks for the info,Kris. Nice of you:))
Becs wrote: "Oh em Gee - I love that Gideon x"Thanks Becs...that's how I see Gideon, he just needs blue eyes.
