liked it

Hey, I liked this series. The concept of pain being utilized as a weapon and the ability that healers have to heal through the removal of pain is a great idea!

This book just didn't do it for me as a great ending. No, that's not right. It had a great ending, very well done. It's just I feel like the characterisation really lacked in this book. I felt disconnected with the characters. People died and I didn't really feel any grief for them. Also, the romance? A failure. It felt half-hearted. A lot could have been done in that area, but it seemed like Hardy wanted to avoid it while at the same time imply that is was there. In the end, it left me feeling very dissatisfied about the whole issue.

Apart from that, I loved how the trilogy ends. It was very well done and I felt like all strings were tied up (apart from the theme of romance) and in the right way too. I'm just rating it 3 stars for the poor characterisation and half-hearted romance.
