it was ok

Ok... so I just finished the second book of Abarat and although i enjoyed it, i didn't like it as much as the first. When I read the first book I didn't realize it was the first of a series. I also didn't realize untill the end of the second book that there would be three more books. Even so... the first book pulled me into the story and carried me along with its characters and imagery of the world of Abarat. By the end i was disapointed that it was over but excited at the prospect of the continuing story. Although the second book was a good read... it didn't pull me in as deeply as the first. It seemed that the story was lacking somthing, a ceartain fullness that was so prevalent in the first. Looking back it seems that the second book is more of a filler for the rest of the books in the series. By the time i reached the end I didn't have that same excitment, that same need to find out "what happens next" as i did by the end of the first. It's a good story with interesting characters and since i started the series, I intend to finish it, but the rest of the books in the series will not be high on my list of books I absolutly have to read.
