OK, that said, Daire Santos is a 16 year old girl who is having visions and knows nothing about why they are happening to her. One night while she is in Morocco with her mother, a makeup artist to movie stars, at the end of a movie she has a breakdown, crossing over to another dimension that she cannot handle. The strange faces, creatures that glow and she recognizes symbols but has no way of telling what they mean. The breakdown leads to psychotic treatment and very heavy drugs. Out of now where her grandmother contacts her mother and offers to help. Paloma Santos is a healer and mystic. She knows what is happening to Daire and wants/needs to help her. So off to Enchantment, New Mexico and the start of the learning of what Daire is and that is a Soul Searcher.
This is the first book in a series that has new additions coming at a pace of one every six months. I hope that Alyson Noel can keep this up. This book is a nice start of self discovery and for a sixteen year old girl can mean quite a lot. Self, love, magic, maneuvering through high school, could you ask for more trauma and drama.
It is the journey we take that makes us who and what we are. Good luck Daire.
I would give it five stars but I want to see where and how it travels.
