- The Story -
Gideon Cross is a 28-year-old, highly driven, mysterious, sexually magnetic captain of industry. His personal relationships are dealt with much like those in his business in that they are cold, calculated, and pressed for time. He's had a traumatic past, part of which he attempts to hide at all costs. And then, one afternoon, in the lobby of his building, he locks eyes with Eva Trammell, and his safe, emotionless, utterly controlled world begins to slowly evolve.
Eva Trammell is a 24-year-old recent college graduate with an equally tragic past. She takes an entry-level position with an advertising firm in New York City, excited to begin a life of semi-independence. Eva is surrounded by family who care for her....maybe just a little too much, and a best friend who is emotionally and somewhat financially dependent on her. Her world begins to evolve as well once she meets the enigmatic Gideon Cross.
- My Thoughts -
Sexy, sophisticated, intense and impossible to put down! In Bared To You, Sylvia Day has crafted a rousing tale of emotional and sexual obsession you will not want to miss, without a doubt!
This story will grab you at page one and won't let you go until you've turned the very last. The writing is superb, contemporary and truly gives all comparable books and series a run for their money! In my opinion, this easily comes out on top.
5 Highly Satisfied Stars!!

“I want there to be happily-ever-afters for the fucked-up crowd. Show me the way, Eva honey. Make me believe.”
― Sylvia Day, Bared to You
― Sylvia Day, Bared to You
“I love you, Gideon.”
“God.” He looked at me with something that resembled disgust. Whether it was directed at me or himself, I didn’t know. “How can you say that?”
“Because it’s the truth.”
“You just see this”—he gestured at himself with a wave of his hand. “You’re not seeing the fucked-up, broken mess inside.”
I inhaled sharply. “You can say that to me? When you know I’m fucked up and broken, too?”

“You forget who submits, Eva,” he said gruffly. “I’ve given up control for you. I’ve bent and adjusted for you. I’ll do anything to keep you and make you happy. But I can’t be tamed or topped. Don’t mistake indulgence for weakness.”

So far, and I LOATHE the comparison because Sylvia Day is a FAR better writer and storyteller, but, this is reminding me a bit of Fifty Shades. I just don't want this author to be hurt or harmed by the comparison because she honestly is worlds better than EL James!" | |

Ha! Right?? But, if you read it, that seems like an apt description. They are *always* having sex!! Though, it makes sense because there's almost a sexual obsession between the two of them. In fact, I may edit so it includes the obsession part. Thank you, my sounding board;-)BTW, this is yours when you wanna read it. You can just let me know:)

I will probably give you a shout this weekend to borrow the book...thanks!

Hannah wrote: "Okay, I think I have to try this book."If you read erotica/romantica, and you enjoy a good emotional story, this is awesome, Hannah!!
I don't usually read that kind of stuff but I'm trying to read books outside of my usual fare. lol I read Thoughtless/Effortless and neither of those books are my thing either. I think I'll try it since it's under $4.00 on kindle.

I'm 35% into it and I don't know what I think. It's a bit like Thoughtless where I can't seem to stop reading it, even if I'm not totally sure what I think. lol I like Eva for sure; I'm a little confused as to where I stand with Gideon. I have a hard time with his dialogue and he's supposed to be 28? I've already aged him about 10 years in my head to make it work for me. I will continue though. lol
LOL!!! I had the age thought about Gideon, too. But, I think later in the story you might get an idea of what could possibly have aged Gideon before his time. At least, that was my thinking:)Hey, you're still reading! That's a good sign!! Keep me posted;)
Okay, I'm now 53% in; they like start to actually engage in conversation right? I mean I have no problem with the sex but erm, conversation would go a long way. LOLOkay, good 'cause I keep going he's 38 or 40, not 28. LOL

I think this first book is really showing the obsession, physical and emotional. They do begin to have real conversations later in the book, and I'm looking forward to book number 2 exploring that even further. Of course, this is also just romantic fantasy, so we have to keep that in mind;)
You go, girl! I'm glad you're still reading:)
Oh, the obsession is quite obvious. LOL It's kinda creepy but whatever. I'm still reading. I want more than obsession, more than sex... haha... Carey is bi-right? He has a thing for Trey but banged a busty blond. He seemed to have denied being bi earlier or maybe I'm missing something.

Yup, Carey is bi.
And, hey, you know, it's perfectly fine if you end up not liking this book at all. It isn't for everyone, I think we know that. Plus, if it doesn't give you what you need out of a reading experience? Meh. Not worth it then. Plenty of other books in this big ol' world;)

Okay, so I finished it. I'm still not 100% sure what I think of it. It's well written but um, I don't know. I'd probably give it around a B-/3.5 stars. I really need more on Gideon and his issues.

Well, hey, you didn't hate it then;)
Finally! I had to scroll halfway down the page to finally get a review that talked about something other than how "hot it was" and gave an actual review. Thank you!!!
