This is a pretty fun piece of 1950s vintage cookery, with some tolerable recipes. I don't know how 1950s publications managed to make the colors on color photography of food look so lurid, but I'm oddly entertained that they did.

As a piece of utter weirdness, I discovered that this book is completely identical in every way except for the cover to the Kingsford Bar-B-Que Book. Clearly the Tested Recipe Institute, whatever that is, wrote the book, and Big Boy Manufacturing (which made barbecues and braziers) and the Kingsford Chemical Co. (which still makes charcoal) each put their own covers on.

Nancy I have been looking for a chicken marinade that I think might be in this book. Would you let me know if there is a lemon marinade that you cook, then refrigerate and THEN marinade? I know, but it's so good. Thanks! Nancy
