"Blood Red Road" reminded me of "Mad Max". A long, dusty journey with fighting wild individuals with a lust for blood.
Saba is a protagonist that I had to learn to love. She has what seems to be an unhealthy relationship with her twin brother, Lugh, and needs to open her heart and soul to more people than just him. She's forced to when Lugh is kidnapped by men who seem to have been wanting him since the two were born. Saba discovers that she is full of determination, courage, compassion, and trust. She just needed to be apart from her other half for a while to find this out. With the help of her sister, Emmi, her heart's desire, Jack, a girl rebel gang, the Free Hawks, and others, Saba discovers that Lugh has been kidnapped by The King and she is the only one who will be able to rescue him from sure death.
An exciting read that keeps you on the edge of your seat for the whole ride.
