I've been a fan of Terry Brooks for years and years. I loved the original Shannara series. I have enjoyed all the others along the way but they seem to have lost the epic scope of the first ones. However, I think this new series does have the feel of the original more so than any of the others. It isn't epic really. I only enjoy such long stories so I can live in that world a little longer.

This story was relatively fast paced with great new characters. Magic, elves, battles, and even death of a good character All very exciting! I am really looking forward to the sequel even if it is so far away!
