it was ok

This book didn't really rock my world nor did it disappoint--it just kinda is. Alternating viewpoints from the homeless black man and the wealthy white man volunteer did give it a more rounded narrative, but overall it felt kinda flat to me. I'm not sure what the premise of the book was/is? Maybe that we're all more alike than unalike? Or that the wealthy can learn something from those surviving on the streets? Or is that all good deeds return something to those who go them? I don't know, whatever lesson(s) you take away from this, you can certainly do worse than reading this book.
