I really liked the first book in this series but this one felt slower for me.

I'm a sucker for romance of which this book had WAY too little! Her absent boyfriend actually gets forgotten in the heat of the plot, which I was glad of as I wish she would just ditch him and move on to greener pastures!

That said, this was a great book for people who like a good mystery. It's a who-done-it of sorts, with a large paranormal element. Richardson does a great job with world building and describing the details of her other-worldly characters and reality. She makes me buy it. I like the female lead - strong but not stupid-macho, and not interested in sexing herself up which is refreshing.

I will read book 3 as a reliable source tells me there's a bit of romantic fire in there and I'm eager to see this great character get some loving!

It's a good book, just not containing MY favourite elements.
