** spoiler alert ** Well, well, well, what do you know? The second book is better than the first! That doesn't seem to happen too often. The biggest issue I had with book #1 was how unlikeable and mean (or outright sociopathic) all the characters seemed to be, and in book #2 there actually seems to be some kind of character development! Admittedly Dante still seems to be kinda slow on the uptake and I'd started reading book #3 first, so I already know all the bereavement was for naught, but this is still a better book than the first was.

I'm still amused the future seems to hold phoneboxes and separate computers and landlines, so maybe it would've been better to leave those bits out. I thought these were written ages ago, but the first one was published in 2005, when Blackberries had been on the market for 6 years already. Go figure. However, I read these for the entertainment value, and that (unwittingly) adds to it.
