After reading "I'm not her" by Janet Gurtler and really not liking it, I decided to giver her books another try and thus borrowed "If I Tell" from the library. This book was so much better (in my opinion), and I really liked how Mrs. Gurtler included race as an important subject in the book. The characters, well they're all struggling a little in the book. Jaz, feeling stuck in the middle because of her skin colour; Jackson trying to erase his image as a former drug dealer; Lacey and Simon, two people that shouldn't have been making out together and Jaz's mom, pregnant and feeling frustrated and lost. The book was well paced and I'll definitely be looking for Janet's next book- Who I Kissed- at the library soon!
