A fascinating book about the mind and the process of creativity, looking at examples of creations by artists, poets, performers, sports professionals, inventors, business professionals and more. It looks at the effect of different activities on the brain, and what is likely to influence creativity in which way. Some activities make you more focused, others free up ideas, and all creative projects require both moments of inspiration and periods of prolonged hard work. The text explores all kinds of influences on creativity, from professional brainstorming sessions to drugs, alcohol and other pastimes, so it is probably not for a young readership and would overall be best taken with a grain of salt.
