Classic swashbuckling. Blood is the "good" pirate both in skill of leadership, seamanship, diplomacy, intellect and a man who cares about his moral standing. He is not without fault or mistake which allows his character to be more real. He is a confident character who walks the walk. I even like the old style in which the book is written. It adds to the authenticity. A good tale.
