This was the first novel by Charles Stross that I have read, and I would consider reading another. It really seemed like that author had a richly thought-out world in which he set a story with a severely limited (glasshouse) scope. I would love to read something of a more extended exercise in world-building by Mr. Stross.

I thought the writing was generally well done, aside from a few of the more emotional bits of dialogue which felt a little stilted. The end also came rather abruptly for my liking, but a great many of the flaws are made up for by one of the most masterfully executed plot twists that I've encountered in recent science fiction. The book spends quite some time on the topic of personal identity, and while not entirely original in this regard, it still proves to be an interesting thought experiment.
