The Cowboy and His Elephant: The Story of a Remarkable Friendship

oh, I was so disappointed with this book....I was looking for another "Marley and Me" experience and although this story had the ability to tug the heart strings,it didn't.
Bob the honest to god Marlboro Man had a nice ranch, and one day got a request to rent stalls to a man to house his baby elephants. Bob agrees and eventually comes to love one in particular, Amy, who he adopts and raises. Unfortunately, Amy grows quite large and needs to be relocated. Obviously, for us animal lovers, you can guess how giving up an elephant that you have raised would be much like giving away your child, but the author doesn't capture the sadness or make you feel terribly sorry for Bob....Over all, I was not happy with this book and only finished it because I kept hoping it would get better.
