One of the many dozens of books professor Chomsky has produced over several decades, in this book - as always - he points out how hypocritical the behavior of the US government is. It says one thing while doing another, 'democracy promotion' for example. While allegedly trying to install a democracy in Iraq, democracy is desperately needed at home. Chomsky makes this hypocrisy seem so obvious that it would be almost comical if it weren't so tragic.
Unfortunately Chomsky does seem to repeat himself. The fact that the US is the only country that has ever been condemned by the World Court is something that the professor has said many times. This is ofcourse important, but this and similar facts have been iterated by him many times which to me feels a little like filler material for the book. On the other hand, he hands over plenty of interesting facts and opinions that I had not heard of before reading this book. On the whole a very interesting read, recommended for anyone even remotel...more
