I agree somewhat with the other reviewers...while the juxtaposition of lives of two very different men was a very interesting angle, I must admit the endless details and minutae about the fair, while interesting, seemed disjointed and incongruess to Holmes' grisly deeds. One did "great" things, while the other did horrible things. I think it is an odd mixture of two different books. That being said, it was extremely well researched and a quick read.
