really liked it
bookshelves: fiction
Read in January, 1998

As with Ender's Game, which precedes this book in the series, Orson Scott Card combined remarkably inventive speculation with acute insight into the human soul and produced a second masterpiece. A few authors manage to produce one novel of this magnitude; Card produced two. The rest of the series is not nearly this good, but Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead deserve a place in lists of real, powerful literature.
