[audio] Second in the series, the plot is familiar, the pace fast, the dialog too adolescent but I read this Patterson series for light, beach entertainment: they are quick, formulaic, and without a lot of car chase descriptions, blowing people way, profanity, egregious sex.* The series format allows me to develop some relationship and history with the characters and I'm glad I read 1st to Die before this title. While reading in order isn't necessary for the plots, it helps in making sense of the characters. I consider this "serious" chicklit -- it's not humorous but the relationship between the women plays a significant role in the plot.

*Which is not to say they are cozies -- just the violence is not the reason for reading.
