Engaging prose and a fun story of medieval England. I think I'm a confirmed, official lover of dogs now since I probably most enjoyed the bits with Adam and his dog, Nick. But there was a lot of insight into daily life at that time and the book even tipped a toe into a little political controversy. But it's a pleasant book and a fun story that I liked now and probably would have loved at age 10 or so.
