What a book, to read it is like walking down its streets, the descriptions are so evocative but but overbearing or so numerous as to slow down the story. Mostly you are seeing the story almost literally through the eyes of Griet as she goes through a troubling time in her families life and thrust into some serious adult situations that she has to learn how to manage without offending those around her.

Vicki Loved this one. It was like reading a painting--I could see vegetables when she arranged them on the platter. So cool!
