Alright, I might not have been as in tune with this book as I should have been...being at the hospital almost every day for almost the entirety of the book sort of puts a damper on things.

However, this is definitely meant for kids under the Peter & Max reading level. The story itself is fun and touching. The end is a mind-fuck if you weren't expecting it. The only things truly irksome for me, I believe, are first, the fact that yes, I was expecting more Fables material and secondly, I didn't expect some of the religious tones. Which are a bit mixed up...I'll say no more on that for I don't want to spoil anything.

So overall, Down the Mysterly River is good, but not re-readable. My copy will be donated to my library.
