This book is quite different from the books I usually love. The characters are a bit flat, and the plot is a fairly basic linear journey from locale to locale, and rather arbitrary losses are thrown in for the heroine to deal with, or not. But the author is a poet, and the sentences are gorgeous. Not a fast read, and somewhat plodding pace, yet the full effect is edifying and beautiful. Well worth the read, ultimately.
