This is a really good read, I read it in one day around my other obligations.
This is the story of Anna Winterson, a teenager who moves with her dad from London to a small seaside town called Winter. It follows her discovery that she and many others are Witches and a battle of magic ensues. Her love life with Seth is complicated by magic. There is a sequel planned for later this year.
I really enjoyed this book, the caracters are real and their emotions are well-expressed, the characters themselves draw you into the plot. The plot flows seamlessly without any hard work on the readers part. It explores themes which its target audience would definitely be able to relate to. It is aimed at the young teenage market but would be enjoyed equally by young adults and not so young adults like me.
A highly recommended book. I will be looking for the sequel when it is released.
Personal read 4/5
Group read 3/5 as it is a good light read if the group wants a break from heavier subject matter but will not raise many issues for discussion.
