** spoiler alert ** Not one I would have picked up myself, but I enjoyed it anyway (was assigned to read it as a possible Reader's Choice selection). The jokes were often eye-rollers, but the humor reminded me of my dad's sense of humor so it was kind of endearing. There was not much suspense until the last quarter or so, when suddenly things picked up, so I can't say it was a page-turner (until the end) and I didn't need all the detail about professional fishing, which I mostly skipped over. One thing I did appreciate was *spoiler ahead* that the bad guy had to suffer a bit. Call me bloodthirsty but I'm always terribly unsatisfied when the bad guy gets shot and dies quickly without feeling any of the consequences of his crimes. This guy gets what's coming to him.
