it was amazing

Anyone who thinks that the tag "young adult" on a book means that the book is lacking in complexity, emotional depth, or controversy, should take a look at Kristin Cashore. I really enjoyed this book, mainly because the character development of the main character, Fire, was so well done. This book avoids many of the traps that YA books tend to fall into, acknowledging that morality is not absolute, that you can love someone without forgiving them for their mistakes, and that you can fall in love more then once. I also love that so far each book in the "series" has been a completely standalone story. I'm looking forward to reading her third book when it comes out next month.
