I tried. Read about 100 pages and was terribly disappointed. Remember, I *adore* John Irving. Hotel New Hampshire is one of my favorite books, ever. I just couldn't care about the characters in this one. Just when I'd *almost* start caring, the book would go off on a long, boring tangent that I didn't care about. I think that there was some intention in the dragged out, feels like there's not enough shade, days of the book, but there was no incentive to put up with it. I tried. I really did. Sorry, J.I.
