I admire this book as a brilliant piece of writing. It doesn't really have a story line. It doesn't need one. It grabs the reader and takes them deeper and deeper into the world of the characters. This is a world I know a little about as I have in the past acted as ghost writer for a stage psychic's autobiography. Her life was nothing like Alison's though! This book also reminds me vaguely of a sophisticated English version of 'American Psycho'. As the chapters unfold we begin to wonder more and more about what is real, what imagined and what is psychic phenomena. As little scraps are dropped into the flow of writing we wonder more and more about the state of mind of both characters. Engrossing.
