I really don't know how Meyer does it but her books, especially this one, are addictive. Maybe it is simple prose coupled with the her ability slowly build suspense. I think it helps that drama does not build to one climatic moment but instead the drama builds then explodes throughout the book. By page 150, you're like, "What the F....!!!" and then that issue is resolved 100 pages later only to be blindsided by some other crazy thing.

One book is like season of novelas (spanish-language soaps) instead of just one episode. And nobody can accuse of her being predictable. By book's end I couldn't even imagine how Meyer dreams this stuff up.
