In this new installment The Season of Sin by Stacy Deanne, Detective Brianna Morris is back along with partner Detective Steven Kemp working another case close to home. Brianna’s friend Nadia Hollister is found murdered in her home and finding her killer is the main thing on Brianna’s mind. The hunt is on for suspects and Brianna will stop at nothing to find justice for her friend. During the investigation, Nadia’s life unravels and soon Brianna starts to feel as if she really did not know the friend she lost.

Dylan is devastated to learn that her mother has been murdered. Dylan is also surprised when her boyfriend is considered the prime suspect. As the investigation continues Dylan discovers some family secrets that leave her feeling angry, betrayed and confused. Dylan turns to her best friend, Zoe, for comfort as well as her new friend, Nick, who is with her every step of the way until…

The Season of Sin is a suspenseful mystery of murder, betrayal and family secrets. The author does a wonderful job pulling readers into the tangled web of Nadia and those associated with her. This book had me on edge while trying to figure out who was behind the murder. This book provides drama, excitement and is definitely entertaining. I am hoping the author is planning the next Detective Brianna Morris novel because I am hooked on this character. I recommend this book to others.
