really liked it

There were some exquisite moments to this book, like when we saw the first-hand glimpse of what it felt like (paranoid) to live in such an environment. But, the book in its entirety was somewhat too disjointed, too meandering for me. I liked best when Kapuscinski focused on one person's story or experience, less when he spoke in broad terms.
