It wasn't that I didn't enjoy reading this - I did, and read it all in a few hours. And Vaughn still writes well, as always. I just felt this was a bit of an in-between book, setting the stage for the next one (or possibly more) without achieving too much itself. It still had lots of interesting elements, like Edward Alleyn (I'd be a fan girl with 2 degrees of separation to Shakespeare too!) and the topics brought up at the conference. But, without giving any spoilers, I just felt it was setting things up for the future rather than going anywhere in its own right. I'll still be per-ordering the next one though :)
