All of David McCullough's books have been excellent. I would love to go see the Brooklyn Bridge after reading this book about all the horrendous struggles and sacrifices (especially by Washington Roebling and his impressive wife, Emily), and the brave innovation and risks involved, and the callous people who cared more about making a few dishonest dollars than the safety of millions of people. I wish there were 100 books by David McCullough. He is so engaging and has a gift for making subjects relevant and real.
