When Honoria Smythe-Smith's brother Daniel is forced to flee the country, he asks is best friend Marcus Holroyd (the Earl of Chatteris) to keep a watchful eye on his sister - to ensure that she doesn't marry a complete idiot =) No matter how much Marcus detests attending seasonal events, he takes his duty very seriously and follows Honoria wherever she goes, discreetly scaring off the occasional suitor. But when Honoria decides to set her cap for Gregory Bridgerton and plans to attract Gregory's attention by feigning an accident, Marcus mistakenly becomes the victim of Honoria's artificial mole hole, landing him not only in bed with a twisted ankle, but with a deadly fever as well.
As Honoria and her mother nurse Marcus back to health, sparks soon begin to fly between the couple - he has known her since she was a little girl, but it is only now that he is beginning to see her as the woman that she has become.

This was simply wonderful! The plot, the characters and the dialogue made this book a most enchanting and captivating read. And of course, we are given the opportunity to enjoy one of the infamous Smythe=Smith musicales as well - an absolute treat that I would recommend to anyone looking for an entertaining Regency romance!
