I didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would. Bitterblue cries too much and it was unbelievable that she would go along with her advisers for so long before finally waking up and smelling the roses. The war efforts that Katsa and Po keep sneaking off to do also seemed like a flimsy plot device to just remove them from a couple of scenes.

I did like how this book tied in the world of Graceling as well as the world in Fire. It was nice to see some old characters reappear. There was just a lot of fumbling around in the middle that I could have skipped. Maybe I just have outgrown this series.
