Read from April 03 to 09, 2012

Though I'd previously read the story of her daughter's birth, how she and her family were surprised to find their Nella was born with Down Syndrome, reading it again still had a huge emotional impact. Kelle writes so beautifully, so honestly, both in her blog and in this memoir. She includes gorgeous photographic images - some that I've seen before (as a reader of her blog), and many that are new to me. Her incredible photos always enhance her storytelling.

I've only read two chapters so far, and already have encountered one bombshell of a story that I never picked up from reading Kelle's blog.

I'll update this when I get the chance. And yes, I'm still reading the other 3 books. What can I say? I just don't have the time or attention span I used to. :)

****UPDATE****
Ok, apparently the bombshell wasn't so bomb-y or shell-y. I guess I just missed the story earlier in the blog than when I started.

Interesting for me was reading the book of Nella's first year while simultaneously keeping up with her Kelle's blog in the present (Nella just recently turned two). Although, Kelle's tone/outlook/attitude seems the same to me (happy to the point of nearly being annoying), I get that this is how she is, or how she chooses to present herself, and re-reading about her grief when Nella was first born, and in so much detail, I'm reminded that she is, indeed, human, with all the accompanying faults, and I admire her all the more.
