Unfortunately, I just couldn't get into this book at all. I like some of the SF ideas -- the add-ons and modules that people use to modify, and sometimes overwrite, their personality -- but found the crime story that underpinned the novel very weak. Also, I wasn't convinced by the depiction of some transgendered characters, and thought the protagonist was almost unremittingly awful -- which makes reading a novel written in the first person very hard.
